Skinner Family Trust
With heavy hearts, we share the tragic news of the passing of Fire Apparatus Engineer Kevin Skinner, who lost his life in the line of duty earlier this week.
On January 5th, OCFA firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in Laguna Niguel. During a search for residents, Kevin began feeling unwell and was taken outside to a paramedic unit for evaluation. Moments later, he collapsed. Despite the tireless efforts of our teams and medical staff, Kevin could not be revived.
Kevin proudly served the Orange County Fire Authority for more than 25 years, joining our ranks in July 1999 following his honorable service in the United States Navy. He was admired for his kind spirit and his ability to make everyone feel valued.
Kevin leaves behind his wife, three children, his mother, sister, and brother. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his loved ones and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him during this time of immense sorrow. We will forever honor Kevin’s unwavering dedication to protecting our community and remember his ultimate sacrifice. Please keep his family and our OCFA family in your thoughts and prayers.
